CV vs Résumé: When to use each
Understanding regional terminology is critical.
- North America: A "resume" is a 1-2 page summary of your relevant experience. A "CV" is a lengthy academic document used only in research/academia.
- UK/Europe: The terms are often used interchangeably, but generally refer to a 2-page document outlining your career history.
Never include a photo, age, or marital status on a UK or US resume due to strict anti-discrimination laws.
