Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and AfriHire and govern your access to and use of the AfriHire website, applications, and services (together, the “Platform”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

In short — what AfriHire is, and is not

  • AfriHire is a job-discovery platform. We organise and label job listings with sponsorship-related signals.
  • We are not an employer, recruitment agency, or immigration adviser, and we do not guarantee a job, an interview, a salary, sponsorship, or a visa.
  • Our sponsorship signals, salary indicators, and eligibility labels are automated, informational estimates based on public data — not legal or immigration advice.
  • You should never pay any third party for a “guaranteed” job or visa. AfriHire never charges job seekers to apply to a role.

1. About AfriHire & these Terms

The Platform is operated by Africore Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17253591, with its registered office at Suite Ra01, 195-197 Wood Street, London E17 3NU, United Kingdom (“AfriHire”, “we”, “us”, “our”). You can contact us at help@afrihire.co.uk.

We may publish additional policies, plan terms, or guidelines that apply to specific features. Where they conflict with these Terms, the feature-specific terms apply to that feature.

2. Definitions

  • Job Seeker — a user who uses the Platform to find roles, build a profile, or apply to jobs.
  • Employer — a user who uses the Platform to post roles, search candidates, or manage applicants.
  • Listing — a job advertisement displayed on the Platform.
  • Sponsorship Signals — automated labels and indicators (e.g. “sponsorship offered/likely/potential”, sponsor-licence relevance, salary-threshold checks) generated from public and third-party data.
  • User Content — anything you upload or submit, including CVs, profiles, company details, and Listings.
  • AI Features — features that use artificial intelligence, such as job matching, AI cover letters, the AI career coach, and mock interviews.

3. Eligibility & accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use the Platform.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at help@afrihire.co.uk of any unauthorised use.
  • Accounts are personal to you (or, for Employers, to your organisation). You may not share, sell, or transfer your account.
  • If you create an account on behalf of an organisation, you warrant that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

4. Job Seekers — using the Platform

If you use the Platform as a Job Seeker:

  • You may build a profile, upload a CV, save roles, receive matches and alerts, and apply to roles.
  • If you enable Auto-Apply, you authorise AfriHire to create tailored drafts from the information you provide. Copilot requires your approval; Autopilot may submit qualifying applications within the limits and filters you set.
  • Automatic submission to an external employer site is off by default and requires separate, explicit permission. When enabled, we may transmit your CV, profile details, saved screening answers and generated cover letter to supported employer sites. You can withdraw that permission at any time in Auto-Apply Settings.
  • We mark an external application as submitted only after the employer site provides a verifiable confirmation. CAPTCHAs, unsupported forms and questions we cannot answer are returned to you for completion.
  • Many applications are completed on a third-party website (for example, the employer’s own careers site or an external job board). Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices, and AfriHire is not responsible for them or for how the recipient handles your application.
  • We do not guarantee that any application will be seen, acknowledged, or successful, or that any role is still open, accurate, or genuine.
  • You are responsible for the truthfulness of your CV, profile, and application materials.
  • AfriHire never charges you to apply to a role. Treat any request for upfront fees, “guaranteed placement”, or payment for a visa as a likely scam and report it to us.

5. Employers — posting roles & sourcing talent

If you use the Platform as an Employer:

  • You warrant that every Listing is genuine, accurate, lawful, and for a real vacancy, and that you are authorised to advertise it.
  • You must comply with all applicable laws, including equality and anti-discrimination law, employment law, advertising standards, and (where relevant) immigration and sponsor-licensing requirements. You are solely responsible for any sponsorship, right-to-work, or visa representations you make.
  • You must not post misleading roles, request fees from candidates, harvest candidate data for unrelated purposes, or use the Platform for anything other than bona fide recruitment.
  • Where you receive applicant personal data through the Platform, you act as an independent data controller for that data and must handle it lawfully.
  • We may review, reject, edit, label, or remove any Listing, and may decline or suspend service, at our discretion — for example where a Listing appears inaccurate, unlawful, or in breach of these Terms.
  • You agree to indemnify AfriHire in relation to your Listings and recruitment activity (see section 16).

6. Listings, third-party content & external links

  • We do not author, verify, endorse, or control the content of third-party sources, and it may be incomplete, out of date, relocated, or removed by the source at any time.
  • The Platform contains links and redirects to external websites. We are not responsible for those sites, their content, availability, security, or their handling of your data.
  • Reliance on any Listing or external link is at your own risk. Always verify role details, the employer, and salary directly with the source before applying or making decisions.

7. Sponsorship signals, salary data & no immigration advice

A core part of the Platform is labelling roles with Sponsorship Signals, salary indicators, sponsor-licence relevance, and direct-apply quality. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • These signals are automated estimates generated from public registries and third-party data, and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
  • They are provided for information only and are not legal, immigration, financial, or professional advice, and create no guarantee of sponsorship, eligibility, employment, salary, or a visa outcome.
  • Immigration rules, salary thresholds, and sponsor-licence status change frequently. You should verify your eligibility and any role’s sponsorship status with the relevant authority (for example, UK Visas and Immigration) or a qualified, regulated immigration adviser before relying on it.

8. AI-powered features

  • AI Features (matching, AI cover letters, career coach, mock interviews, and similar) use automated systems and may produce output that is inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation.
  • AI output is a starting point, not professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any AI-generated content before you use or submit it.
  • If you choose Autopilot, you instruct us to use your saved, verified information without reviewing every generated application first. You remain responsible for keeping that information accurate and may pause Autopilot at any time.
  • To provide AI Features we may process your inputs (including CV and profile content) using trusted third-party AI providers. Do not submit information you are not entitled to share.
  • Usage of AI Features may be subject to fair-use or plan limits, which we may set and change.

9. Subscriptions, fees, billing & refunds

  • Some features are offered on paid plans (for example, AfriHire Pro for Job Seekers and paid hiring plans for Employers). Plan features and prices are shown at the point of purchase.
  • Payments are processed by third-party providers (for example, Stripe and Flutterwave). By subscribing you also agree to the relevant provider’s terms. We do not store full card details.
  • Paid plans renew automatically for the billing period you select (monthly or annually) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you retain access until then.
  • Prices may change; we will give reasonable notice before a change applies to your next renewal. Fees are stated inclusive or exclusive of taxes (e.g. VAT) as indicated at checkout.
  • Consumer cooling-off: if you are a consumer in the UK/EU, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a purchase. By starting to use a paid digital service within that period you may ask us to begin immediately and acknowledge you may lose the right to cancel once the service has been fully supplied. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable; we may, at our discretion, offer pro-rata or goodwill refunds.
  • If a payment fails or is reversed, we may suspend or downgrade paid features.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Platform for anything unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful, or to post false or misleading information;
  • scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-extract data, content, or Listings from the Platform, or use bots or automated means, except as we expressly permit;
  • circumvent, disable, or interfere with security, access controls, rate limits, or the operation of the Platform;
  • upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or probe or test the vulnerability of our systems;
  • impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your identity, eligibility, or affiliation;
  • charge job seekers fees, run recruitment scams, request payment for visas or “guaranteed” placement, or collect personal data other than for legitimate, disclosed purposes;
  • infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights, or post discriminatory, defamatory, or abusive content;
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Platform or its content without our written permission.

11. Your content & licence

  • You retain ownership of your User Content.
  • You grant AfriHire a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, and display your User Content solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Platform (for example, to show your profile to relevant employers, to run matching, and to power AI Features). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained as required by law or held in routine backups for a limited period.
  • You warrant that you have the rights to submit your User Content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights or law.
  • We may remove User Content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or the law.

12. Intellectual property

The Platform, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the compilation and labelling of Listings, is owned by AfriHire or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to access and use the Platform for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

13. Privacy & data protection

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and applicable data-protection law.

14. Third-party services

The Platform relies on third-party services (for example, hosting, payments, email, and AI providers) and links to third-party sites. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

15. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions, and representations not expressly set out in these Terms, including as to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, or that Listings, Sponsorship Signals, salary data, or AI output are accurate, current, or will achieve any particular result. We do not guarantee employment, interviews, sponsorship, visas, or hiring outcomes.

16. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any of your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, opportunity, data, or goodwill; (b) we are not liable for losses arising from third-party Listings, external sites, hiring decisions, reliance on Sponsorship Signals or AI output, or events outside our reasonable control; and (c) our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Platform will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AfriHire and its officers, employees, and agents from claims, losses, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your User Content, your Listings or recruitment activity, your breach of these Terms or the law, or your misuse of the Platform. This does not apply to consumers except to the extent permitted by law.

18. Suspension & termination

  • You may stop using the Platform and close your account at any time.
  • We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access (with or without notice where reasonable) if you breach these Terms, if required by law, to protect users or the Platform, or if we discontinue a service.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content licences already granted, IP, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnities, and governing law) continue to apply.

19. Changes to the Platform & these Terms

We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

20. Governing law & disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that, if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may benefit from any mandatory protections of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there where the law allows. We encourage you to contact us first at help@afrihire.co.uk so we can try to resolve any issue.

21. General

  • Entire agreement: these Terms and the policies referenced in them are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Platform.
  • Severability: if any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
  • No waiver: failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure: we are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
  • No agency: nothing here creates a partnership, agency, or employment relationship between you and us.
